The amount of repayment of claims of creditors of banks liquidated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund for January-November 2023 amounted to UAH 8.213 billion.
As Ukrinform reports, this was reported by the press service of the Guarantee Fund.
“For 11 months of 2023, the amount of repayment of claims of creditors of banks liquidated by the Deposit Guarantee Fund amounted to UAH 8,213 million, including UAH 631.6 million for extraordinary satisfaction of the claims of secured creditors,” the statement says.
The Guarantee Fund notes that from these funds in November alone, creditors' claims were repaid for a total amount of more than UAH 1.09 billion.
“This is twice as much as a month earlier. Funds received from the sale and management of liquidated bank assets are used to pay creditors. To ensure a stable flow of funds, the Deposit Guarantee Fund is constantly modernizing its approaches to these processes. In particular, in recent months we have introduced a pilot project for the sale of bank loans by “industry pools,” and also improved the conditions for restructuring problem loans,” said Deputy Managing Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund Olga Belay.
In general, from January to November of this year, more than UAH 5,107 million was aimed at satisfying the claims of seventh-priority creditors (legal entities not associated with banks) and more than UAH 202 million – the fourth-priority (individuals in excess of the guaranteed amount). The remaining funds were received by creditors of other priority groups.
In general, over the entire period of operation, the Fund satisfied the claims of creditors of insolvent banks for a total amount of UAH 68,066 million. Of these, UAH 17,658.4 million were repaid to secured creditors, including more than UAH 16,292 million to the NBU.
The Fund allocates funds received as a result of the management and sale of property (assets) of these banks to satisfy the claims of liquidated bank creditors.
As Ukrinform reported, insolvent banks managed by the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals allocated UAH 3.97 billion to repay the claims of their creditors in 2022.
