The Council of the National Bank appointed Elena Avramenko as the new director of the Internal Audit Department of the NBU from February 20, 2024. This was reported by the regulator's press service.

Vadim Mironyuk, who previously headed the Internal Audit Department, by decision of the Council of the National Bank, was dismissed from the position of director of the Internal Audit Department in accordance with the submitted application.
The responsibilities of the newly appointed director of the Internal Audit Department will include, in particular, assessment of the effectiveness of processes risk management, internal control and performance of management functions provided by the structural divisions of the National Bank, in accordance with international standards of professional practice of internal audit.
The NBU recalled that in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the National Bank of Ukraine”, the head of the internal audit department of the National Bank is appointed for a period of five years. The appointment and dismissal of the head of the internal audit department falls within the powers of the Council of the National Bank.
The Internal Audit Department is part of the “General Block” subordination vertical, which is headed by the head of the National Bank, Andrey Pyshny.
“Tightening the effectiveness of the National Bank’s internal control will be the main task for the newly appointed director of the Internal Audit Department. I hope for meaningful and effective work in this direction,” commented Pyshny.
Who is Elena Avramenko
Elena Avramenko has more than 15 years of experience in the field of internal audit, including management positions.
Before her appointment as director of the Internal Audit Department of the NBU, Elena Avramenko held the position of deputy director – head of the audit department of financial and administrative activities and monetary circulation of this department.
In general, in the National Bank Elena Avramenko has been working since December 2015. Before that, she worked in banks, in particular, in 2010-2015, at Ukrsibbank JSC (part of the international financial group BNP Paribas).
Elena Avramenko graduated from the Kiev Institute of Banking (Bachelor of Banking ) and Kiev National Economic University named after V. Getman (Master in Banking).
