Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny considers it necessary to retain the concepts of suitability and unsuitability for military service in the legislation, and to abandon the division into degrees of disability.

Zaluzhny’s direct speech : “I believe that today operating with the degree of disability, 2 groups, 3 groups, it is not, let’s say, relevant now. Why? Because suitability for military service is determined not by the disability that a person has, but by the military “a medical commission” that determines whether a person is fit for military service or unfit.”
Details : The Commander-in-Chief noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine agreed with the proposal to leave two concepts in the relevant bill: a person who is fit for military service and a person who is unfit for military service.
“Get rid of such a concept as limited fit. And, accordingly, when we give ourselves the answer to these questions, fit or unfit, respectively, we will understand whether it makes sense for us to continue to operate with such concepts as group 2 disabled, or group 3 disabled “, noted Zaluzhny.
What preceded : The day before, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the improvement of certain issues of mobilization, military registration and military service” No. 10378, which regulates issues of deferment from conscription for military service, including people with disabilities.
