Budanov said that returning the occupied Donbass will be more difficult than Crimea

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Donbass will be temporarily occupied by Russia it is more difficult to return than Crimea.

This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov in an interview with the French publication Liberation, reports Ukrayinska Pravda.

< The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate explained this by the fact that in the Donetsk region and the Lugansk region, the infidels have established a continuous supply line and “their troops can gain access to it from any side.”

As for Crimea, “everyone who once owned Crimea loudly and clearly declared that Crimea is an impregnable fortress, and absolutely everyone has lost this fortress.”

“Just like Ukraine ten years ago. Today, the Russians still have a land corridor to Crimea. The Crimean bridge is still standing, but it does not have long to live,” Budanov noted.

The head of Ukrainian intelligence added that in the matter of liberating the peninsula, two strategic tasks need to be solved. We are talking about cutting off the land corridor and destroying the Crimean bridge.

“The rest are only a matter of time. The peninsula will be returned. It’s more difficult with Donbass,” Budanov said.

He believes that Russia, having lost Crimea, will not decide on nuclear escalation.

“There have already been a lot of reasons for the use of nuclear weapons, perhaps dozens. And so what? In Russian doctrine, nuclear weapons are considered as a “means of deterrence” “This is what everyone is afraid of and what everyone is speculating on. But for Russia, the use of nuclear weapons will cost much more than their non-use,” Budanov said.
