A jury has ruled in favor of rapper Megan Thee Stallion in a high-profile defamation lawsuit, finding social media commentator and blogger Milagro Cooper liable on all counts, reports Baltimore Chronicle. The case, filed by Megan Pete, known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion, began in October 2024 and centered on Cooper’s alleged efforts to spread false claims and harm Pete’s reputation online, with damages subsequently awarded.
Court records obtained by ABC News indicate that Cooper was found responsible for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and promoting a manipulated sexual depiction. Megan Thee Stallion testified during the trial that Cooper, who operates under the social media alias Milagro Gramz, orchestrated a deliberate campaign to harass and intimidate her through online platforms.
Pete also stated that Cooper acted as a “paid surrogate” for rapper Tory Lanez, disseminating misleading information on his behalf. Lanez was previously convicted for the July 2020 shooting that injured Pete. Megan’s attorney, Mari Henderson, emphasized that the jury’s decision underscores the importance of truth, accountability, and responsible online commentary. Cooper has been ordered to pay $75,000 in damages.
Outside the courthouse, Cooper commented on the ruling, saying she respected the jury’s decision and felt she had “made out pretty good,” noting that the verdict was not a multimillion-dollar judgment and expressing relief that matters could now move forward.
The lawsuit detailed that Cooper’s actions aimed to punish and discredit Pete following her public identification of Lanez as the individual responsible for the shooting. Pete testified that Cooper created a space online where users were encouraged to post negative commentary, portraying Pete as dishonest and mentally unstable.
Cooper, who testified in November, stated she discussed the shooting on her social media independently and without influence from Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson. She admitted, however, to speaking with Peterson and hoping to feature him on her channel, as well as receiving payments from his father, Sonstar Peterson, which she described as related to personal and promotional activities.
The jury reviewed social media posts in which Cooper claimed that Pete had not been shot. When questioned about her belief in Pete’s shooting, Cooper initially said she could not confirm lying because she was not present, but later stated she believed Pete was not shot and instead stepped on glass, referencing Pete’s initial police statement.
Although Peterson was not named as a defendant in the defamation case, he provided deposition testimony prior to the trial. His legal team did not immediately respond to requests for comment from ABC News.
Peterson, who did not testify in a separate 2022 trial, was convicted of felony assault in December 2022 for shooting Pete in both feet in Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. He received a 10-year prison sentence without parole on August 8, 2023. Peterson’s legal team appealed, but the conviction was upheld by a federal court in Los Angeles on November 12, 2025.
