Fury Sr. is confident that his son will be able to defeat the Ukrainian.

John Fury, father of WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury, expressed confidence that his son will defeat the world champion according to WBO, WBA, IBO versions and IBF Alexandra Usyk.

Fury Sr. boldly stated this in a comment to Express, calling on fans of the Ukrainian boxer not to count on his success in the fight with the “Gypsy King.”

“I want to appeal to the people who encourage Usik. Your guy won’t cope with with this job. All those who think that the bloated middleweight can win, forget about it. Tyson will be ready, the question is, will Usyk be ready?

Tyson is in good shape, isn't he? I was very upset by this cut because Tyson was in great shape. Our team did an excellent job,” said the father of the British boxer.

We would like to remind you that the Usyk-Fury fight will take place on May 18 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The fight was scheduled for February 17, but due to injurythat the Briton received during one of the sparrings, he wassuffered.

To avoid another breakdown of the fight, the organizers established sanctions that will be applied to Usik or Fury, if one of them does not enter the ring on May 18. Boxersface a huge fineif they refuse to fight on the scheduled date.

The winner of the Usyk-Fury fight will become the first absolute champion world heavyweight division in the 21st century.

The last “absolute” in the heavyweight division was Lennox Lewis, who won this status in 1999 when he defeated Evander Holyfield. Then the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO was recognized as equal in 2007, so the winner of the fight between Usyk and Fury will become the first ever “absolute” heavyweight with four major titles.
