Google is developing a new artificial intelligence feature for its Google Photos app that will allow users to turn their own pictures or photos of friends into memes. This was reported by Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Android Authority.
In the latest app version, Google Photos v7.51.0, researchers discovered code that hints at an upcoming feature called “Me Meme.” The name suggests that users will soon be able to transform their images into personalized memes through AI technology. To use the feature, the photo must first be stored in Google Photos — ideally a selfie with a clearly visible face. Once generated, the AI-created meme can be instantly shared in group chats or on social media platforms.
According to Android Authority, Google is preparing several meme templates for the feature’s launch. One of the first possible templates could be the well-known “This is fine” meme. However, it remains unclear whether users will be able to upload and use their own templates for meme creation.
Google Photos continues to be one of the most popular tools for photo storage and management. The app offers powerful features such as facial recognition that automatically groups photos, an intelligent search function that detects objects, places, and activities, as well as creative tools for making albums, movies, and animations. Additionally, Google Photos helps free up device storage by identifying duplicates and removing images that are already backed up to the cloud.
