The Russian Ministry of Defense actually publicly admitted to committing war crimes, commenting on the mass shelling of Kharkov.
Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andrey Yusov reported this in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
He noted that the Russians hit exclusively civilian targets in Kharkov. Not a single representative of the GUR was injured as a result of the attacks.
“These statements by official representatives of the aggressor state are in fact a public admission that Russia has committed further war crimes, because during the last strikes on Kharkov, the enemy deliberately targeted exclusively civilian targets and civilian infrastructure, not a single military target was hit, not a single GUR employee was injured “, Yusov emphasized.
The GUR representative added that other statements by the Russians are lies and enemy propaganda, and the criminals will be punished.
What preceded this
On the evening of December 30, the Russians shelled the center of Kharkov. The Kharkiv Palace hotel and a residential building were damaged.
Already at night, the Russians attacked Kharkov with “shaheeds”. There were hits in the city center. The police clarified that as a result of two waves of shelling in Kharkov, 28 people were injured. Among them are two children aged 14 and 16 and a foreigner.
The Russian Ministry of Defense came up with a cynical justification for the massive shelling of Kharkov. The Russians said they were taking revenge for the shelling of Belgorod. In addition, the occupiers claimed that representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were allegedly killed at the Kharkiv Palace hotel.
