They are called released prisoners: scammers have come up with a new scheme to lure money

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War warned that in Ukraine, scammers have begun to use the latest exchange of prisoners of war with the Russian Federation, which took place on January 3, for profit.

«Profiles have appeared on social networks that present themselves as defenders released from captivity, call for contact and promise to provide information supposedly about those military men whom they saw in captivity. Subsequently, under various pretexts, they begin to ask for money», — the message says.

As noted at the headquarters, photos and videos of defenders from «exchange 230» or photo and video materials from other similar events. Consequently, Ukrainians were urged not to believe in such messages and noted that scammers are hiding behind these pages.
