Powerball jackpot grows to an estimated $1.5 billion for Saturday's draw after no ticket matched all numbers Wednesday.

The Powerball jackpot is now estimated at $1.5 billion for Saturday night’s drawing, marking the fifth-largest prize in the lottery’s history, after no ticket matched all six numbers on Wednesday, according to Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the official Powerball announcement.

Wednesday night’s jackpot had been $1.25 billion, with a cash value of $572.1 million. The winning numbers drawn were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66, and the red Powerball 17. This prize ranked as the sixth-largest in Powerball history. The record jackpot remains $2.04 billion, won on November 7, 2022.

The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was September 6, when two tickets from Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize. Since then, there have been 43 consecutive drawings with no jackpot winners.

Players who had won Wednesday night would have had the option of receiving either annual payments totaling an estimated $1.25 billion or a one-time cash payment of $572.1 million. According to Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

The next drawing will take place just before 11 p.m. ET at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Tickets for Powerball cost $2 per play.
