The Department of Health of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Regional Administration reported this on Facebook, reports Ukrinform.

“An artificial intelligence kit for automatic analysis of X-ray images of the chest area was transferred to the regional phthisiopulmonology center. During this time, the AI ​​processed 263 images, detected tuberculosis 127 times and oncology twice,” said the head of the department, Vladimir Dzembak.

According to him, over the past four years, an increase in the incidence of tuberculosis by more than 60% has been recorded in the Frankivsk region. And over the past year, 493 newly diagnosed cases and 92 relapses of tuberculosis were registered in the Carpathian region. 10 of them – – in children under 14 years of age.

The head of the department noted that the region has enough professional doctors and modern equipment to identify pathologies. In particular, in the Carpathian region there are 10 molecular genetic systems Gene Xpert, which allow diagnosing tuberculosis in two hours. taking medication regularly. And the use of the latest devices reduces the time patients spend in hospital by almost three times: from one year to several months. It is noted that today all methods for diagnosing tuberculosis recommended by WHO are available in Ukraine. All services for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis are free for patients.

As Ukrinform reported, a sharp increase in the incidence of tuberculosis and oncology has been recorded in the Mykolaiv region over the past year.
